The Escape

Synopsis

Back in the secret Alaskan facility, Dr. Matheson reveals that its a black ops project aimed at bringing together the world's greatest minds. When William Bell questions her loyalties, she invites Walter to read her mind. Matheson and Walter enter tubs of water (similar to the show's "tank") and share consciousness, where Walter sees that Matheson is being held here against her will.

However, William's suspicions prove correct when Matheson's memories were planted, and that the mind-meld was just a way for her to unlock the knowledge inside Walter's brain. Matheson lures Walter and William into the teleporter, where Walter uses the quartz crystal in his watch to fix the teleportation device. The facility's security team congratulates Matheson on tricking the boys, but then she turns the gun on them, and the teleportation capsule disappears. They're transported to an unknown wilderness, where they discover that Matheson was shot during the escape. Someone calls the President of the United States to inform him that Bishop and Bell are being tracked, and one of them was "implanted". The President says to "activate him" when the time is right.
