MainPageIntro
Any reason why the MainPageIntro template is appearing at the bottom of the Season 2 page?
- Not that I can think of. It was added on 10 Jul.--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 00:13, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Same reason it is at the bottom of the Season 1 page... I put it there because those pages tend to be dead zones (non-dynamic) with few links back out to superior pages - so I treated them like a subpage of Main Page... if you wander in for the one time you (might) read the Season page, you shouldn't feel trapped... voom - you get to the bottom of the page and there is the trap door back to freedom... free roam! Its' a style/technique. –DocH– my edits 00:28, 10 August 2009 (UTC) (I use that bottom exit all the time when I am editing those pages - security blanket)
- Isn't this the reason for having a sidebar? So that you are not trapped on a page.--LabgoTalk|Contribs 01:19, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Could be. Except many of the lesser skins do not carry the lovely sidebar that we have in monobook and a few other. On smaller monitors, the horizontal scroll bar shows up and folks use that to slide right - hiding the sidebar. The MPI Banner at the bottom stays in the content field and is more easily seen... plus it has alot more reader links than the sidebar... which tends to have more editor links. –DocH– my edits 01:39, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, I remember how annoyed I was when the LP moved and my familiar interface disappeared until I discovered how to get it back. I have to agree that the intro pane isn't hurting anything.--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 13:27, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- I would go with the Template:NavPortal instead. You get the links but not the "Welcome to Fringepedia" (which is kind of odd at the bottom of the page).--LabgoTalk|Contribs 23:00, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm slow. It takes up less room, too.--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 00:16, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
